Design Exhibition
Fashion designs inspired by music legend David Bowie were created by De Montfort University (DMU) students and exhibited at a Space/Bowie Exhibition at the National Space Centre. From intricate lingerie to extravagant footwear, their designs complemented a 360° live immersive experience in the UK’s largest planetarium.
THE PROCESS
THE BRIEF
DMU and the Space Centre required a video that would showcase the collaboration between the students and the centre. It was important that we featured the craft of the student work and the opportunity to work with a national organisation.
THE SOLUTION
We decided that there should be two distinct sections to the video: The craft of the DMU Campus and the wide-open space and opportunity of the National Space Centre. We approached filming styles in both locations differently. On campus, we used telephoto lenses and tracks to focus on the dedication and technique of the students. At the Space Centre we used wide angle lenses and gimbals to showcase the big opportunity that the exhibition will bring to the students.
THE OUTCOME
The video was used on screens at the Space Centre and in online marketing by DMU.
