Common Tongue Documentary
Common Tongue is a multimedia show combining electronic and classical music, spoken word, dance and digital visuals. The Indian classical art forms of tabla and kathak are remixed and made contemporary, in a series of songs told by lead artists from India and the UK.
The Project
The Brief
The show explores the theme of a common tongue. In an increasingly globalised world, how can people who speak different languages, and come from different cultures, relate to each other? How do older languages, traditions and art forms fare in modern times? How do we cultivate a common language between us, which honours the past but looks forward to the future?
Solution
We documented the Common Tongue team across development and production in the Midlands. The aim of the documentary was to raise awareness about the show and to promote the production.
